For other strongmen, it may be important to have what Powell thinks he should have, which refers to reckless spirit to the point of struggling, and the realization that comes from a life-and-death situation.
But he was a ‘player’ as Powell said, and the level-up and inner coordination through him were bound to be the primary driving force to raise the stakes.
And for that level-up, what was needed most was to ‘quote’ and ‘calculate’ monsters as efficiently as possible.
‘Certainly, the occasional realization is giving me more power than the level, but……and now that I’ve been raised to this level, I can’t even be sure when that realization will come, or ever again.”
In conclusion, Vulcan never thought the fighting style he was sticking to at the moment was a drawback.
However, Powell, who heard Vulcan’s thoughts, shook her head and refuted her remarks.
“You are the one that deals with thunderbolts and fire, which are the pinnacles of violence, and you say that….you’re not even a man. Get rid of your third leg.”
“……Isn’t that a sexual harassment?”
“Hmm, is it because of my appearance right now? Then should I say it in this form? If you are going to fight like that, get rid of your third leg, you idiot!”
Powell, who instantly turned into a bearded, muscular dwarf, kept teasing Vulcan.
Vulcan, with a bewildered look, wished her grotesque act would end, but Powell did not stop.
When the Vulcan was about to get angry at the scene where she even created a song with a pitch, Powell returned to the figure of a woman.
Then she looked at Vulcan with a serious look.
“Do you think I’m joking?”
Vulcan lost his words as Powell’s tone suddenly changed.
Toward him, Powell continued to pour forth her words.
“Of course I know the player is a very different creature from other races. But if you look at it in a big frame, you’re a magician, too. Among other things, you are a magician that deals with thunderbolts and flames. Two of the most self-indulgent, ruthless, violent and hot-tempered of all the attributes. But if you stick to the current style of fighting, driven only by cold calculation, can you expect more than a level-building stat? Wasn’t skill as important as level to the player?”
Powell went straight to the point.
When Vulcan heard it, he had no choice but to look at her without words.
In fact, he had heard something similar before.
After being taught by Werner in Belong City, he was able to clear Act 1 with great enlightenment.
However, after entering Act 2 with an increased weight on his shoulder, Vulcan had no choice but to return to a stable style of supply and demand of experience points to save the world, and the style became entrenched to form a battle method that values efficiency and estimation like he was using currently.
‘In a way, it’s surprising that I could increase the skills of thunderbolts and flames with this mindset…..’
Perhaps at the moment of epiphany, he measured nothing, and by instinct blew his inner violence to its fullest extent.
Thinking this far, Vulcan struggled to pull himself up, and bowed his head toward Powell.
It was a kind of expression of his gratitude for reminding him.
Powell looked at it with her eyes wide open, laughed in a high-pitched voice and said,
“You are cute in a way…….”
Powell looks like a female soldier looking at her young disciple.
She cut open the air, took out a special potion in a glass bottle and threw it at Vulcan.
Then she added her words, looking at Vulcan who was gulping it down and recovering with it.
“Of course, you know that listening doesn’t change your style straight away, right? From now on, I will teach you every method I know, from how to give bones and gain the flesh, how to fight for life, how to fight recklessly, how to fight like a madman……all of them. It’s been a long time since I found someone I like. It’s also good that you deal well with sparks.”
“That sounds like a hell of a tough word……how are you going to teach?”
Somewhat energized Vulcan looked anxious and asked Powell back.
Toward him, Powell replied with a bright smile.
“If I push you to the limit of death, you can learn what I said above at once!”
* * *
The threat of life under the guise of sparring with Powell worked quite well.
From the outset, Vulcan was the type of person who became stronger with experience than theory.
For him, however, the battle with Powell, which made him pass the boundaries of life and death every moment, became a pretty good catalyst, and Vulcan gradually became adept at handling fire and lightning.
To be exact, he’s become accustomed to bursting and pouring out everything he has in a moment of time.
Vulcan’s magical power was gathered to its full extent, without caring about what would happen next.
There, the enormous power of fire and lightning surrounded Vulcan’s sword.
Instead of the godly power that could not be used in the Demon World, he had injected the two attributes of the spirit into the sword.
Of course, it was quite difficult to boost the power of flames on behalf of the godly power.
Unlike the harmonious nature of godly power that suits any energy, fire and lightning were self-indulgent ones that would never yield.
‘But…..there isn’t really a reason why I should suppress these wild animals!’
The Vulcan abandoned the idea of creating a neat sword form with two energies being supressed.
The energies of flames and thunderbolts arbitrarily stretched to all directions, though barely curled by the lightning sword of the thunderbolts.
It was an unstable situation that seemed to fade away even after a short period of time, but Vulcan didn’t mind at all.
If he can’t keep it for a long time, then he would have to pour it on the enemy before it’s gone!
Vulcan used his new technique, the Fire-Thunder Sword, for Powell, who seemed to be relaxed in the distance.
The powerful Fire-Thunder Sword was shot out forward, like the dragon’s breath.
Looking at it, Powell opened her mouth wide and poured out her specialty, Fire Breath.
The breath coming out of a real dragon, and Vulcan’s Fire-Thunder Sword just as powerful as it!
The two clashed and devastated the surrounding landscape.
A tremendous impact swept through the Demon World, which would have at least blew away a continent if it had been in the Lower World.
With a slight exaggeration, a damage so powerful that was enough to destroy a planet fiercely scratched out the land.
After the great crash of skills, Powell thought with a smile on her face, as she was looking at Vulcan, who was leaning on his sword and shivering.
‘……He is one surprising fellow.’
It had been exactly 100 years since Powell started teaching magic to Vulcan.
For the first time, Vulcan managed to safely stand after getting her breath in full-power.
[Max Level Newbie: Munpia #143 (Chapter 48-4)- Unexpected Encounter]
< 48. Unexpected Encounter(4) >
Vulcan seemed surprised, and looked at Powell.
As far as he knows, only Percus could fortify the item to this extent.
But even he, with his lazy personality, wouldn’t willingly fortify the armor full of demonic energy from an unknown source.
‘By any chance, is Powell as good of a blacksmith as Percus?’
If not that, did he upgrade the set through magical means?
Vulcan checked out the options of the Demon King set, which had become much better, and asked Powell.
“These…..still are full of demonic energy, how did you manage to get help from Percus? By any chance, did you fortify them by yourself?”
“No. I’m not a blacksmith, why would I?”
Powell answered, who was picking her nose after transforming into a nymph with a pointy hat, and Vulcan asked again.
“Then how were they fortified…….”
“I asked Percus to have them done, of course.”
“What? In this exact state? What were you going to do if you got caught?”
“I was already busted by Percus. About 200 years ago.”
“So it’s fine. He thinks that I got them from the Demon World, so it’s not like he knows about you.”
Vulcan thought that it was a sheer nonsense, and asked Powell again.
“I mean…was there another god except me, who knew that you had invaded the Demon World? Although Percus is not sensitive about that stuff, he wouldn’t just let it go by without saying anything, so how…”
“Well, if he reveals this issue…I don’t know but something bad will happen, I guess.”
One small nymph put a meaningful smile on her face, as if there was something else hidden.
Vulcan saw that, and thought to himself as he shuddered.
‘……I should try my best not to show my weakness to her.’
Anyway, Vulcan managed to get the items strengthened safely, so he gave Powell several ingredient items that he had collected from the Demon World and had stored in the inventory.
Since they were valuable and hard to get from just one dimension of the Demon World, Powell put a big smile on her face as she collected them.
Although it seems like she thoughtlessly goes around fighting with others, she was also a dragon-person who devotes herself to all sorts of magical researches.
No, she was now a more advanced figure; a dragon.
For her, these rare ingredients were much more valuable than gold and jewelry.
The little nymph, Powell talked to Vulcan, with a big bundle on her back and a big smile on her face.
“Hehehe, I really like it. I shall start your training from next week.”
“Should we do it here, where we are now? We could also avoid being watched by those old people.”
“What? My demonic device takes me to random places, not the Demon World I want to go to, so…….”
“You idiot! You can come to my world, and get here through the portal that I had opened!”
Vulcan scratched his head as he was cursed at for nothing, and went back to his world, using the demonic device.
Then after that, Powell started to teach him magic.
* * *
Powell’s education was as strict as Vulcan thought.
She taught in a way that was more comfortable for the teacher, rather than caring for the learner.
And most of the teaching began with sparring and ended with sparring.
Vulcan resisted Powell’s violent teaching style, but it never succeeded.
It is natural that one cannot use one’s physical strength as much as one’s rival in the Demon World.
Powell’s magic attack, which reached a physical level of 1400, forced Vulcan to become half-dead, and the theoretical education would only begin after he was exhausted to the point where he couldn’t even lift a finger.
“You know, your basic skills aren’t bad. I don’t know who you learned it from, but it’s pretty organized. It’s not bad for someone who grew up alone after that. It must have been easy to get the wrong habits or inefficient ones, but it’s amazing how you’ve only walked in the right path this far.”
While lying down, Vulcan listened to Powell, covered in sweat and dust.
He slightly smiled as he got the praise, although he was gasping for breath.
However, he had no choice but to grimace at the ensuing harsh rebuke.
“But the way of fighting is completely rubbish. Calculate, measure, leave your spare time, and only care about the cost-effectiveness….. It’s not a fight, but it’s more like a chess game for you. Tell me the truth. You’ve never really fought a stronger man than you, right?”
“Damn right you have. But it was either as secure as it is now, or it happened once. What’s more, it was probably not with your own skill, but with the help of another. Am I wrong?”
Powell, looked down at him with an unshaken pupils.
Her red hair soared into the sky, thanks to the strong force coming out of her body.
When he saw Powell, who had become like a witch of fire, he could not begin to open his mouth.
Powell’s words continued.
“Well, I think all the players are like that way. You never risk fighting someone stronger than yourself. It’s likely that you pick a person who you can win against, since by doing so, you can easily get higher experience points. Hm…… It’s really easy when you think about it. Our Vulcan, you’ve been sucking honey all along, haven’t you?”
“I didn’t live such an easy life…….”
“Shut up. Just say yes.”
Powell went with her own pace, more than Werner and Dokgohu.
Vulcan gave up talking back to her, and listened to her words as he pretended to be an obedient lamb.
“Anyway… …because you’ve been so calculating and ingenious, every magic you use has too much thought. Hm…… The expression is a little strange, but what should I say? …Yes. There’s this little petty guy in your head who manages magic, and it feels like you’re bargaining with him when using magic?”
“That’s even harder to understand.”
“Just understand already. Do you really don’t get it?”
“Umm…… I think I do.”
She was probably pointing to the Vulcan’s style of fighting, which he calculates the necessary magic power needed depending on the circumstances, and only extract that bit out.
But Vulcan thought it was inevitable for him to have this style.
Powell stood, crossing her arms in discomfort.
It wasn’t because she didn’t like Vulcan, but rather seemed like she wanted to know the secret about the demonic device as soon as possible.
After a moment of thought, Vulcan explained the process of making the demonic device, and the ‘system’, which was the ability of players.
This is because he didn’t think any other excuses would work, and he didn’t think it was necessary to hide the player’s abilities from someone who even shared the fact that they were travelling back and forth Demon Worlds.
‘Most people know about the players’ abilities, anyway.’
But after she listened to Vulcan’s explanations, Powell shook her head as if it were nonsense.
There was no way that she didn’t know anything at all about the player, since she considered herself as the best magic expert.
“No. Your ‘system’ is…definitely more powerful than other players. Do you think I’ve let the weirdos like “players” sit still? But I’ve never seen anyone that was capable of doing the same thing that you said.….”
“Is that so…….”
“Yes. To be exact…it doesn’t even make sense that the system completed the secret magic of physical alteration just with the ingredients. Well, it also is a nonsense that you could use the ability right away, only with one book of Blue Dragon vision…but that’s the same for other players. Hmm…anyway, the players are surely weirdos.”
“Among them, you are more peculiar. If you weren’t a god, I would have secretly captured you and performed some kind of an autopsy.….”
Vulcan backed away with blemish at Powell’s serious expression.
However, when she unwound her face and smiled blandly, he smiled back and scratched his head.
“Haha, you were obviously joking.”
“Of course it’s a joke. You are not like the other gods, and I like you quite a bit. In terms of exploring your own power and not just focusing on your own personal godly power……you get a passing grade from the fact that you jumped into the Demon Worlds ignoring all the old people’s words.”
“Haha, thank you. Then I should get going…….”
Vulcan was overwhelmed by Powell, so he naturally stretched out his arm to get the Entrance to the Unsettled Demon World.
But then, he forced a smile when he saw Powell reaching towards the demonic device first.
“You know, I have to do what I want to do, right?”
“This demonic device, I need to borrow…….”
Powell didn’t think he would interrupt her, known to be the most violent even among the gods, so she stared at Vulcan for a moment with a slightly absent-minded look.
Then after a short period of time, she let out a volcanic rage, and her body began to be fragmented as if she could not bear the momentum.
Then Powell returned to the shape of a giant red dragon with a brilliant light.
She said to Vulcan in a rumbling voice.
“How dare you interrupt me when I’m speaking? And to reject my favor?”
“Were you asking a favor? And you said you couldn’t figure it out even if you observed it, didn’t you? So what’s the point in taking it?”
“That was before I heard about the ingredients from you! It’s different now. I think I can figure out the way to pull out my magical knowledge, if I do some research to an extent!”
“In that case, shouldn’t you try to make a deal, and not take it by force?”
“Hahaha, you are one strong fellow…… but could you still speak as such after you get beaten?”
Vulcan seemed to be dumbfounded for a moment, after hearing the absurd words of Powell.
Then, he managed to come to his senses and quickly put the device in the inventory, with the power of the system.
“No, how? I was detaining it with magic!”
“It’s also an ability of players. And I’m a patient person, so no matter how scary you get, you won’t get what you want.”
“……What do you want?”
Once again, Powell, who has returned to the image of a strong yet beautiful woman, sat cross-legged and asked.
It became much easier to communicate with each other.
A sigh of relief, Vulcan gulped down and said what he wanted.
“……Would that be possible?”
The deal that Vulcan wanted to make was simple.
After he uses the demonic device, while waiting for the cool time, he gives it to Powell for her time to investigate.
Instead, once a week, Powell gives the dragon magic to Vulcan, which she has been bragging about so much.
For Powell who didn’t have much to do, she didn’t really have any problem with the conditions.
Of course, she didn’t like the fact that she couldn’t own the demonic device for the whole day, but that was understandable since it wasn’t hers anyway.
Powell nodded, and spoke.
“Fine. But can I add one condition?”
“I shall see.”
“You bastard…… It’s nothing big, but won’t you give me some needless things that you have been collecting in the other Demonic Worlds? That…system of yours, its magical power can make the complete product with the exact necessary ingredients, but for me, I would have to go through some failures, with many ingredients. I wouldn’t say that it’s to return the favor, but I will do one more thing if you have another simple request as well.”
“Then…do you happen to know how I can eliminate the demonic energy from my items, or even hide it?”
“Hmm……What on earth are you talking about?”
Powell answered in a strong, yet feminine manner.
However, he already understood that her way of speaking changes according to her appearance.
Without caring, he took out four parts of his collection of “The Set of the Demon King” and talked to Powell.
“As you can see…I got this as a booty from the Demon Worlds, but I cannot take this to Percus in this state. So I was wondering if I could hide the demonic energy, to trick his senses…..”
“You chicken…… You are afraid of him catching you going back and and forth, aren’t you?”
“Yes, I am a chicken. So, is it possible or not? I guess even you cannot push down the demonic energy of the Demon King, right?”
“You should use your mad-man strategy wisely. Well, I’m in a good mood today, so I won’t tackle that. And…you mean, eventually what you need to is strengthen the armor, right?”
Powell waved her hands briskly, after collecting sets of the Demon King.
She said that she would see him later, and moved to her Lower World as Vulcan looked at her in suspicion.
But the next day, Vulcan was surprised to see Powell bringing back the four perfectly fortified sets of Demon King.
All four items were left as they were, with the appalling demonic energy still coming out of them.

< 48. Unexpected Encounter(3) >
“What do you mean?”
Vulcan asked back.
With the same stiff face, Powell talked to him.
“I said, is this thing from the Great God?”
Vulcan didn’t know why Powell seemed so upset.
Powell got frustrated, gently put down the demonic device and continued talking as he pointed fingers at Vulcan.
“Oww! Did you make this? Or not?”
To be exact, he had upgraded what another guy made, with the help of the system. But Vulcan thought it wasn’t an exaggeration to say that he made it, since that was also done with his ability.
Moreover, Vulcan was not trying hard to answer the question because the speaking tone of Powell was getting on his nerves.
But Powell didn’t let it pass by.
With the strict, stern facial expression, he looked at Vulcan and spoke.
“You? You couldn’t have managed to do so.”
It was as if she was looking down on Vulcan.
Vulcan got upset by it, and was going to nitpick over it, but shut his mouth as he saw that she was serious.
It didn’t seem like she was asking that to start a fight with him.
Since it looked like she was asking out of pure academical curiosity, Vulcan spoke in a gentle manner.
“Is there a reason why you think I couldn’t have made this?”
“A reason? Sure. Who do you think is the best at magic, among all beings of Asgards, including the gods like you?”
“….By any chance, is it you, Powell?”
“Yes, it’s me. What do you mean, ‘by any chance’? You want to die, don’t you?”
“Well, but we are both gods, please have some respect….”
Ever since he became a god, Vulcan had not heard anything aggressive from another.
Everyone spoke in a semi-formal manner, including Hoculus, who was much older than he was, as well as other gods.
Vulcan couldn’t help himself but get disconcerted, because he hadn’t encountered anyone that treats him like this in a long time until now.
‘She is a beautiful lady on the outside, but she acts like Bernerna Dokgohu….‘
Vulcan was comparing their rather proud, and quick-tempered personality with that of Powell’s, then focused on what she continued to say.
“Hmm, anyway. Right now, when the pure magical power is calculated, except for the godly powers and stuff, there is no god that has a better skill than I do. It’s not just limited to attacking magic. It means that there is nobody that can make and analyze good demonic devices better than me. But….”
Powell stopped for a moment.
She stroke Vulcan’s demonic device for once, with her white and smooth hand, and continued talking as she cringed her face in confusion.
“To have the demonic device that is so complex that even I cannot figure out…..how is it possible?”
“I do admit that you excel in many ways. I like you much better than those old folks that only put their efforts into increasing their godly power, being a clown to those idiot humans of the Lower World….But, that doesn’t mean that I believe you are absolutely capable of making this kind of high-level demonic device. There is only one being that can create such a device like this…”
“Would that be…….”
“Yes, the Great God.”
Powell spoke without hesitation.
Her determined attitude as if she was telling the obvious truth made Vulcan look rather embarrassed.
Of course, it was true that his demonic device had a performance that was out of this world.
It was surely a great treasure, since it let him go to and from Demon Worlds of another dimension, although it had a flaw in sending him to a random one, and not the one he wanted.
But it was not made entirely by himself, and it was only completed by the help of the system.
But since Powell wasn’t well aware of this, she was sufficiently mislead, and to clear the misunderstanding, Vulcan tried to elaborate further about the function of the system, which is a part of the players’ abilities.
However, doubts about the system that suddenly emerged led him to shut his mouth and think deeply.
The help of a system that has been taken for granted.
He just couldn’t explain it in common sense, so many players besides himself accept it without doubt, and now it had become so familiar that he couldn’t think about it.
He’s been passing this thought carelessly, and it wasn’t just a matter to be passed on easily, when he heard what Powell had said.
‘How do players……the system, what is the source of the capability?’
It helps players to reach the high stage easily, to which others have to struggle with effort and talent in order to grab onto a few rare opportunities in order to reach it. Also, it helps them learn magic, martial arts, and other skills easily.
It even allows them to break the human framework and transform into a superhuman, half-god existence, and helps them to learn the very complex Blue Dragon vision, or the secret art of reformation easily as if it was nothing, which normally requires a very difficult process to learn.
‘Also…now the capability had developed enough to whip up the unfinished item in whole if it has the ingredients…’
And the result of that is something so great that even Powell, with the best magical knowledge at all levels, can’t easily understand the principles.
It wasn’t as simple as something that can be passed on, after saying ‘Wow, my powers are so great’.
Vulcan felt a fleeting shudder in his spine.
‘……I, what kind of creature am I being protected by?’
The sound of the system that always whispered in his own ear in an unemotional voice.
He couldn’t help but feel anxious as he thought back on that old voice.
Of course, it could not be concluded that the “system” in his body was wrong.
Maybe the Great God is a blessing to himself.
‘To think that an unknown power that I wasn’t aware of is ruling over me…….’
It was hard to keep control of his thoughts.
Vulcan simply couldn’t understand why he had just come to this serious thought.
He was sure he could have doubted it if he wanted to.
Maybe it was because he dug so deeply into his life that he couldn’t take away from it, and because his life was too intense to live thinking about it.
Would that be the reason?
Vulcan couldn’t figure it out, since he was already steeped in the benefits of the system.
There was a being to separate him from his such thoughts.
“Hey! What are you thinking about, standing in front of me?”
“Oh, sorry. Something important came into my mind for a moment…..”
“Well, if it has nothing to do with me, think later. Come clean. The Great God gave this to you, right? Don’t fool around with me, saying that you made it yourself.”
Since most of the dragon-men wished to become a complete dragon once they clear the Act 2, it was probably true.
The appearance didn’t matter anyways.
Dragons, especially Powell, were peculiar beings that changed their appearances and the way of speaking as they wanted to.
What really mattered was her ability.
[God of War, Powell]
[Physical Level : 1405Lv]
[Godly Level: 120Lv]
[Tendency: Neutral, proud, violent]
* God of Agameth Dimension: Has the highest physical level among the gods. Knows a lot about fire. Likes to fight and surprisingly, research.
‘The physical level is out of this world.’
The level was astonishing.
It was a tremendous ability, enough to deal with a level-A Demon King, even in the Demon Worlds where godly power is limited.
Considering that most gods have a physical level of between 1,000 and 1,200, it was no exaggeration to say that Powell stood far ahead of them.
‘Although in comparison, the godly level is terribly low.’
He was always wondering why a god with much more experience than him has such a low godly power, but it appeared to be because of the similar reason as himself.
He spoke to Powell, who was sitting on a boulder with her legs spread out like a man.
“When did you start coming to the Demon Worlds?”
“From about 500 years ago. And you?”
“….from about 100 years ago?”
“Hmm, is that so? When Haimuro invaded your dimension? So I guess you got confident then, and started to go back and forth Demon Worlds?”
Actually, it started long before that, but Vulcan didn’t tell the truth.
He could sort of understand why Vulcan moved like so.
Since he had no Demon King in the Demon World his dimension, and has a fascinating disguise skill.
Because everything that could be of harm to him was all figured out, it was no wonder why he was so confident in going back and forth Demon World and Human World.
‘Although I came through without all that……..’
She remembered the time she went to the Demon World of her dimension, which was 500 years ago.
As she had lost all interest in the Human World, she was so excited when she visited the Demon World, avoiding caught by the old gods.
The real demons, and not the kinds that are artificially made that can be seen in Act 2.
The excitement of getting attacked by thousands of much stronger, and wilder demons!
On top of that, she almost felt her blood boiling when she was dealing with the strongest one of them all, the Demon King.
But that only lasted a moment.
After knocking them all down, rounds of everyday lives would repeat on and on.
Of course, she hadn’t lost interest right away.
She was a dragon-man, considered to be an innate expert of magic.
Additionally, she had become a more forceful figure, a dragon, by making her wish.
Thus, as she was good with magic, she could spend a certain amount of enjoyable time by conducting several experiments and researches with high-ranking demons that she newly met.
‘But that didn’t last long…….’
A hundred years had passed, and when it was about to be 200 years.
Powell started to lose interest in the Demon World, when she no longer had things to research on, and demons to fight against.
It had become a boring place, just like the worn-out Lower World and Asgard.
After that, Powell devoted herself into creating new magic.
That is, she was trying to find a way to head to another Demon World; the one that is not linked to her own dimension.
At that time, the joy of being alone in a world full of enemies and no allies!
And the pleasure of standing on the ground, tearing them all apart!
The sense of freedom at the time when she was free from all the tasks and responsibilities that she had to do as a god!
She almost thought that there was no need for eternal life as a god, if only she could feel it again.
However, it was not easy to study how to get to a Demon World of a different dimension.
In the first place, she was able to come to the current stage by force only to widen the gap between the tiny cracks in her regime and those that had been connected to it.
Of course, Powell had a strong magical power, enough to say that she was much better than other gods, but it was still hard for her to find a way to a Demon World of a different dimension.
‘Vulcan did it.’
She thought that maybe he had come to the Lower World that she’s in charge of, then found the hidden portal to the Demon World to come here.
But that was even more unrealistic, so Powell pressured Vulcan into telling the truth.
Powell asked how he could come to the Demon World of another dimension that is far away.
Vulcan didn’t have much to say.
He was actually still a bit dumbfounded.
Who would have imagined that he would meet a god that is not a Demon King, and even Powell, when he entered a randomly opened Demon World?
So Vulcan couldn’t let Powell’s interrogations slip away smoothly, creating room for her to keep digging.
Powell pressured even harder, threatening him that she would tell on the other gods of how he’s been going back and forth Demon World, if he didn’t tell her the truth.
Vulcan found it ridiculous, and spoke to her.
“Well, I’m not alone here, am I? Powell, you are my partner in crime; no, you started coming to this world long before I did!”
“It doesn’t matter to me. They already consider me as a pain in the back. The other gods have given up on me already. But I assume your reputation is different?”
“And I remember that you smashed my experiment materials as you please, you know?”
“Ah……well. Right. It’s not like they are perished.”
Powell mentioned the incident of the prison being destroyed, thinking that it was done by a new Demon King.
Vulcan had hoped that it wouldn’t come up, but since it was brought up, he had no choice.
With an awkward expression on his face, Vulcan took out his most valuable item, the ‘entrance to unsettled Demon World’.
Powell was very surprised to see it, and ran towards Vulcan.
Powell carefully received the demonic item from Vulcan, as if she was handling a fragile glass object.
She grumbled, looking at the demonic item for a while, then turned her face away.
With an expression like a ferocious cat, she looked at Vulcan and spoke to him.
“You, did you get this from the Great God?”
[Max Level Newbie: Munpia #141 (Chapter 48-2)- Unexpected Encounter]
< 48. Unexpected Encounter (2) >
Vulcan closed his eyes as hard as he could, and looked up to the sky again.
This is because someone came into his sight, someone that he thought would never be seen here on the ground.
Despite his efforts, however, the situation has not changed.
Powell was still flying fast towards him, with her big wings spread out.
Instead of simply referring to a ‘dragon-person’ who inherited the blood of a dragon, she appeared as a real dragon, and seemed very majestic, almost to an extent of being combative.
When he had met her in Asgard, he only saw her in a solemn appearance without a facial expression, but when she twisted his face like that, she was so energetic that no other king could even compare.
So the Vulcan stared blankly at Powell for a moment.
But he could stand idly by for only a little while.
When he felt the unprecedented power, not demonic power nor godly power, coming out of Powell’s mouth, he was greatly astonished and called out Powell’s name.
“Almighty Powell! Wait, this is Vulcan!”
Powell had a slight change in his expression, as if she heard Vulcan.
Nevertheless, she didn’t care and poured out the power that she had gathered in her mouth.
The dragon’s breath, that is hotter than the heat of the hell, poured onto Vulcan in a terrible speed.
Vulcan cringed hard.
He didn’t know what Powell’s intention was in attacking him, since he had already said that he was Vulcan, one of the gods.
But then the mystery was solved soon enough.
As he held up the sword to block the breath, he realized that his hands looked just like that of Barlock’s.
‘Oh dear…… how stupid…….’
Vulcan thought that he should have taken off the disguise first, but it was already too late.
Vulcan put all his efforts into blocking the breath of Powell with his sword, which was very close to him.
The power of the breath was quite magnificent.
Perhaps if he had been a Demon King below level D, he would have been hit hard with this one move.
But fortunately, Vulcan had higher level, and Powell hadn’t shoot out her breath as hard as she could.
Actually, she was thinking it was too much to use such a technique to a demon like Barlock.
However, when she saw that the strange Barlock, who called out the name ‘Vulcan’, pulling out a sword and not a whip, and slicing her breath in half, that thought completely went away.
It’s been a long time since she had met such a powerful demon!
Her huge mouth made a big smile.
Actually, Powell was furious when she found out that it was Barlock who had smashed her research ingredients.
Although he is rather a high-ranking demon, she was not interested in him anymore, as she had researched enough of him.
She was disgusted with the fact that a demon of no use dared to destroy and smash her property.
So she was trying to burn him to the ground without a trace, by using more powerful technique than it was needed…
Seeing that he had blocked such technique so easily, Powell had gotten excited, beyond being interested.
Also, he was a rare demon who used a sword, and not a whip!
For her who had never heard of Barlock using a sword, she could not stop laughing at the thought of studying that precious sample.
The land around trembled a little, reacting to the tremendous energy coming out of her body.
It looked like as if there was a little earthquake.
It proved how powerful Powell was, and how excited she was right now.
Blue particles of demonic energy gathered in her two hands, and got longer.
A total of 8 huge blades of demonic energy grew like witch’s nails.
Watching Powell’s tactics, which seemed much stronger than the compressive strength of the warrior with hard work, Barlock hurriedly talked to her.
“Wait! Hold on!”
But for Powell who was in her own world already, Vulcan’s words couldn’t be heard. So she forcefully rushed towards Vulcan and tried to wield his right hand.
She couldn’t help herself but get stunned to see the demon turning his appearance into a human being, or more specifically, into one of the gods that she knew.
Vulcan easily blocked the attack from Powell, who had lost most of her power.
He saluted Powell, with a subtle look, a mixture of pleasant and curious feelings.
“……Oh, yes. It’s nice to see you.”
“How did you end up here?”
Powell didn’t have much to say.
Although she was one of the strongest among the gods, she wasn’t allowed to go back and forth Demon Worlds as she wished.
But that was same for Vulcan.
Powell also asked the same question to Vulcan.
“How about you, why are you here?”
Vulcan also stayed silent, so the two of them stood by for a while, looking at each other.
* * *
“Hmmm…I didn’t know there would be one more of a wackjob like me………”
“What do you mean, a wackjob……”
“So you think it’s normal to go to the places that the old people say is dangerous, and that we shouldn’t go there?”
‘But that’s same for you…..oh, that’s why she said someone like me.’
Vulcan was about to talk back, but then giggled a little.
He looked at the God of War, Powell, who was in front of him.
A flaming red hair and red eyes.
She’s got a strong build, but she’s also got curvy lines and big breasts.
If it wasn’t for the porcelain white skin, it would be reasonable to call her a female warrior.
But for the Vulcan, who knew she was a huge dragon over 30 meters in length, he didn’t really feel like she was female.
‘They say that dragons are actually asexual…and I think she said that she evolved into a dragon from a dragon-man in Act 2 by making a wish.’
Nevertheless, the fact that there was no such quest as ‘destroy the Demon King’, meant that there was no high-ranking demon above level 1,000 in this Demon World.
Eventually, he concluded that it was worse than the hunting grounds of the Act 2, apart from the reward of the quest.
Vulcan sighed again.
He stared blankly into the sky of the Demon World, as he had lost all the enthusiasm.
But he couldn’t stay like that forever.
He jumped up from the seat and used the strength of the god of the lightning to its full extent.
Then he ran out in any direction, scurrying around to find the city of the Demon World.
He was going to cause a scene as loudly as he could and bring in more demons to take down.
But even after 30 minutes, an hour, and two hours of running around like a madman, he couldn’t find a large city.
There is no place to call a village, let alone a city.
Vulcan stopped because it felt so incomprehensible.
Then he used his flying magic in the center of the empty wilderness, where there was nothing.
The idea was to broaden the horizons to see what was around.
But the situation didn’t go as he intended.
“……There is literally nothing.”
There was no demon to be seen.
Although he had concentrated his vision from quite a tall height, there was not one demon to be seen. This reality got Vulcan agonizing as if he had received an unsolvable riddle.
About 100 years had passed since he started to go back and forth the Demon Worlds.
He had been to thousands of Demon Worlds.
However, it was the first time for him to find such a calm Demon World where there was not even an ant.
‘Well, there was one, when I revisited the Demon World that I had destroyed…..’
It was similar to when he had two visits to the same Demon World, one that he had destroyed on his first visit.
But he was here, the Agameth Dimension, definitely for the first time.
The case was completely different than before.
Fortunately, the worries of Vulcan didn’t last long.
As if someone eavesdropped on his innermost thoughts and gave him a helping hand, a demon came into his sight.
A small demon ran out of the cave, with a scared look on his face, as he looked around to see if anyone was out there.
Upon seeing it, Vulcan uttered yells of delight and approached towards him in a speed of light.
The small demon with only a level 15 looked surprised, as the powerful Barlock appeared in front of him.
But then, he started to have tears running down from his eyes, and kneeled as he appealed to Vulcan.
“Aaah! The birth of such high-ranking demon……it must be a blessing from the Demon God! Barlock, please save the Demon World in despair!”
‘……What is he talking about.’
Vulcan, who was about to torture the demon to find out where the high-ranking demons were, got greatly taken aback.
But without showing it, in a poker face, he waited for the small demon to speak. A moment later, the small demon calmed down enough to explain the situation.
* * *
‘……So a demonic dragon showed up to massacre the demons, and take them?’
The emotionally unstable small demon could not explain properly.
But as Vulcan organized things in his head, it seemed like some unknown creature, the ‘demonic dragon’ had killed all high-ranking demons, including the Demon King.
This was an unusual event.
In Demon Worlds, it was normal for a stronger demon to kill the Demon King to become a new King.
But as for this demonic dragon, instead of becoming the leader of the demons like the others, he massacred everyone, including the Demon King.
The demons that gathered to celebrate the birth of new King, wanting to get some benefit, were scared to death as they ran away…..
‘This terrible being…..dug up the whole Demon World, killing us and sometimes taking us away. It’s been almost ten years…now there are hardly any demons in this Demon World, except for a few newborns.’
The small demon told this sad story, and asked him to go where his friends were held and rescue them.
For Vulcan who was looking for more demons to finish the quest, he welcomed the opportunity.
So the two of them moved rapidly to the place where the demons were locked up.
Of course, Vulcan had no intention of rescuing them whatsoever.
From what he heard, there were hardly any demons left in this Demon World, except for those that are locked up.
This meant that he might be able to complete the quest just by killing them.
Also, it would be better if this demonic dragon were to show up at the scene.
Since that creature seemed to be the boss of the Demon World, Vulcan concluded that he would be able to perfectly finish the quest if he dealt with it.
Vulcan continued thinking in his head, then sped up when he saw a huge building in his sight.
Literally in a blink of an eye, Vulcan arrived in front of the entrance of a ugly-looking rectangular building.
He tilted his head as he saw the golems that seemed to be gatekeepers.
‘……do the demons make these things as well?’
Of course, it didn’t matter too much.
Their level wasn’t much of a threat, as they were about 600~700.
He brought up his magical power to lightly shoot out 3 shots of Ifrit’s Fist to take care of the golems. He then also used magic around the entrance.
The sturdy-looking doors got destroyed like a piece of cardboard, and the inside was revealed.
There were rooms lined up on both sides with a long corridor in the center
The demons, who had a look of hopelessness between the bars made out of unknown material, looked at the entrance in amazement at the sudden uproar.
“No way! It’s a Barlock!”
“Could it be, to rescue us…….”
“We’re safe! We’re going to walk out alive from that terrible being!”
Of course, Vulcan had no intention of living up to their expectations.
Vulcan created four runes in the air.
He looked a little sorry as he shot them right down to the prison.
Countless demons got destroyed with the building, without even being able to resist properly.
Seeing what Vulcan had done, the small demon stared at Vulcan in disbelief.
But Vulcan was ruthless.
He blew away the neck of the small demon without giving him a chance to speak. Then he soon caused an even bigger scene as he poured out more magic.
He wanted to meet this demonic dragon as quickly as he could.
Among the magic that Vulcan had learned, the loudest ones of them unfolded at the same time.
The sheer deafening roar shook the whole Demon World.
The building has long been destroyed with no trace left, and even the terrain around it had been crushed beyond recognition.
Vulcan, with the appearance of Barlock, had destroyed everything.
He smiled while smashing the world like a toy, which seemed so hideous that anyone would point out that he was a demon.
His efforts must have paid off.
Vulcan felt a great presence coming from afar and stopped shooting out magic.
Then, with the naked eye, he checked out the being approaching towards him, and then he mumbled to himself with a dumbfounded look.
Another chapter this Wednesday. Enjoy! And Peace!
[Max Level Newbie: Munpia #140 (Chapter 48-1)- Unexpected Encounter]
< 48. Unexpected Encounter >
[Mythical Defense Armor (Set item) – The Helm of the Demon King’s armor]
[Level limitation: 1,000Lv]
Defense power +1359
Flame quality resistance +10%
Fire-related skill attack power +5%
All stats +50
* An armor that the Demon King likes to put on. Strong defense armor with fire-related merits. While the single equipment performs poorly in comparison to the mythical defense of the same class, the effect is very good when all five items of the set are collected.
A fairly outstanding option.
As a mythical item that can be used by someone above level 1,000, it had tremendous defense power.
Also, the name itself was the ‘Demon King Set’ which is an upper version of ‘Demon Duke Set’, it was obvious that Vulcan would be interested in it.
‘Well……there is still one part missing, but I would definitely collect it someday while taking down the Demon Kings.’
After all, the problem wasn’t about collecting all the items in the set.
There was another bigger problem.
Although he had collected the whole ‘Demon King Set’, there was no way for him to upgrade it.
What Vulcan had right now, the ‘Demon Duke Set’, was upgraded once by Percus, and it had better performance than the items of the Demon King series, which was the upper version.
Eventually, he would have to ask Percus to strengthen it in order to utilize the Demon King Set properly, but the concern he had was that he couldn’t reveal the source of the item.
‘Demon Duke Set was fine, since anyone could easily get it in Act 2….but if I were to abruptly show up with the item containing the demonic energy of the Demon King……….’
Anyone would surely ask where he got the item from.
Vulcan could never think of an appropriate answer to that.
It was such a lame excuse to say that he had only now brought what he had gained 100 years ago when Haimuro came in, and it was unlikely that the gods, who now knew quite a bit about the players, would believe it.
‘They would think that I took down at least 5 Demon Kings…..then the fact that I went back and forth other Demon Worlds would be revealed.’
He cringed a little.
It would rather have been better if he hadn’t known that such item existed.
Vulcan stared at the Helm of the Demon King’s armor for a short while, then threw the item inside the inventory.
Since he could not get the answer by agonizing over it, he decided to think again after collecting the complete set.
‘And my items now…it’s not bad compared to other gods’ equipment.’
Especially for the sword, it was so valuable that the other gods with thunder and lightning power, and expertise in swordsmanship would want it. So there was no need to be sullen about not getting better equipment.
He left Asgard to move to one of the Lower Worlds that he’s in charge of.
It was time to go to the Demon World, as the cool time of the demonic device was over.
It wasn’t like he could open the portal to the Demon World in Asgard, where there are a number of gods.
He went deep into the cave, where he frequently uses to go to the Demon World, then summoned the hermit.
Now a high-ranking hermit, Dokgohu was summoned with a glum look on his face.
– Are you trying to get me to watch over the Lower World for you, again?
Dokgohu instantly caught Vulcan’s intentions.
Vulcan tried to coax him, who didn’t seem too happy since it wasn’t a one-time thing.
“Please do me a favor. Other Lower Worlds are okay, but the Hopoi continent is being noisy again nowadays….”
– To add to my burden as a priest….by a god……….
Dokgohu shook his head.
With an awkward smile on his face, Vulcan thanked him.
“So, please do me a favor for 2~3 days. You don’t need to do anything much, but just take care of things when there is about to be bloodshed.”
– You bastard, fine.
An improbable response coming from usual Dokgohu.
But recently, he accepted Vulcan’s favors to a certain extent, since he had become a high-ranking hermit a few years ago when he was enlightened while sparring with Vulcan.
Vulcan lightly bowed to Dokgohu, then used the demonic device.
A black portal appeared in the air with a slight tremor.
Upon looking at it, Vulcan cringed a little.
Although he could not tell before, now Vulcan could roughly measure the level of Demon World by the demonic energy coming out of the portal.
Based on his judgement, the amount of demonic energy coming out from this portal was very little.
‘It looks like…… this Demon World is an F-level…….’
It was highly likely that the dimension would either not have a Demon King at all, or would be with a newbie Demon King that has just achieved over 1,000 levels.
But then, he straightened his face and tried to think positively.
It was better to enter an F-level Demon World, where he could at least massacre the normal demons, than to be not be able to do anything in a B-level Demon World, in which nothing could be taken care of with his abilities.
‘I would get quest experience points rewards….and sometimes it’s fun to sweep out everything.’
– What are you doing, just standing there?
“I’m going in now.”
After a moment of thought, Vulcan moved reflexively moved towards the portal after hearing the curt remarks of Dokgohu.
As usual, Vulcan shivered under the strange feeling of moving between dimensions.
He waited for the quest to pop up, looking at the grim, slightly reddish landscape peculiar to the Demon World.
[There is a quest!]
[General Quest – Destroy the Demon World of the Agameth Dimension.]
[Difficulty- F-level (Demon World standard)]
[Reward – A lot of experience points]
*Utterly destroy the Demon World of the Agameth Dimension.
Even before entering, this place seemed to have the power to be considered the weakest of all the Demon Worlds.
The fact that the name of the Demon King didn’t come up, which was always mentioned every time he entered the Demon World, disappointed Vulcan.
The standard Demon King according to the system is 1,000 levels.
Any demon with the level above that is given the title of the Demon King without fail, unless there is a more powerful demon.
