Even Kaede, who didn’t play games much, could guess that having zeroes lined up in her status was probably not a good thing.

If you think about it, even in real life, there are very few things where a zero is good.

Kaede checked her stats one by one and noticed that her attack power was just barely there thanks to her weapon, but she had no intelligence, no agility, and no dexterity.

「Ahaha… I have done it, eh… what should I do… Risa isn’t here either.」

She groaned and thought about it for a few minutes. The idea she came up with was to try fighting monsters at least once. If that didn’t seem to work, there was no way around it. Kaede figured she’d remake the character then.

Kaede trudged over to the forest that seemed to have no people in it.

「Alright, this is a good place… Monster-san, you can come at me from wherever you want!」

It may or may not have reacted to Kaede’s voice, but a white rabbit with a sharp horn jumped out of the grass. A white rabbit hits at quite a high speed. If one were to ask whether Kaede, who only had the same speed as in the real world, would be able to evade a rabbit’s charge, the answer would be no.

「Whoa!? Ugh, sorry!」

Kaede, not quite sure who she was apologizing to, suddenly said that and, unexpectedly, moved the great shield she had been holding ready. She ended up taking a ramming attack with the sharp horn to her stomach.

「It hurts…! …I-it doesn’t?」

The rabbit was confused when it saw that the attack, which was supposed to be a critical hit, had not done any damage.

「Ohhhh! Amazing! It doesn’t hurt! As expected of 【VIT 128】! Heh heh heh… how’s that, Rabbit-san? How are my abs?」

Kaede tensed her stomach. It wasn’t like it was ripped. It was quite squishy, on the contrary.

The rabbit took that posture, in which she stuck out her defenseless belly, as provocation and rushed at her again.

Kaede stopped the blow with her belly without using her great shield.

The White Rabbit charged over and over again, and Kaede was laughing all the way through.

If someone who didn’t know anything were to pass by, they would post about this profoundly strange situation on the forum in an instant.

This battle (it’s doubtful if it could even be called a battle) went on for an hour.

「There, the-ere… put more heart into i-it! Hm?」

Kaede was egging the White Rabbit on, when a sound played in her head.

「Hm? What’s that? …Wait a minute, Rabbit-san.」

Kaede checked the skill with no care that the rabbit was charging at her.

Skill 【Absolute Defense】

Doubles the VIT of the owner of this skill. The points required to raise the 【STR】, 【AGI】, and 【INT】 stats are tripled compared to normal.

Acquisition Conditions

Take attacks from enemies for one hour, neither taking damage nor dealing damage with magic or weapons.

「Hmm? Wait, doesn’t that mean 【VIT 256】!? Hey, isn’t this a pretty awesome skill!? …I was just playing with Rabbit-san though…」

Kaede thought it was easy to get this skill, but just using a great shield would not give one enough defense. That said, there were no people who would try min-maxing when they knew they were going to hit a wall later on. In addition to that, it was unlikely that anyone who did try min-maxing would spend an hour playing with a White Rabbit.

In other words, it is no exaggeration to say that this skill needed a miracle to be obtained. What’s more, Kaede was certainly the only one who had this skill at the moment.

Although, there was no way for Kaede herself to know that.

「OK, Rabbit-san, I’ve kept you waiting… Rabbit-san?」

The white rabbit was hurting itself by hitting the ground after each charge. And what seemed to be the HP bar appeared above its head…

It had just now gone from being red to zero.

With a cracking sound, the white rabbit turned into glowing particles and disappeared. Without dropping a single item, it disappeared without a trace.

「Rabbit-saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!」

『Your level has increased to 2』

The girl’s screams echoed in the woods.
